VIDEO: how BetterPoints helped Bologna increase active travel

In 2017 and 2018, BetterPoints was chosen by SRM, Bologna’s Local Transport Authority, to power a large-scale travel behaviour change initiative.

Residents tracked active and sustainable journeys and were rewarded with BetterPoints (our digital currency) which could be exchanged for a variety of rewards, including cinema tickets, beer and ice cream!  Tens of thousands of people got involved and travelled more actively. Active travel has well documented benefits to individual and societal health and wellbeing.
