10,000 free travel tickets up for grabs with BetterPoints Sheffield

In the run-up to Christmas, residents of Sheffield are being offered a helping hand to do their shopping.

Anyone that has accrued 50 points in the BetterPoints Sheffield app can claim one of 10,000 TravelMaster CityWide Day tickets, worth £5.90, allowing them unlimited bus and tram travel around the city.

The offer runs until Christmas Eve, enabling more shoppers to leave their cars at home for festive shopping, enjoy the Christmas Market without worrying about driving, and save nearly £6 in the process.

Councillor Ben Miskell, Chair of Sheffield City Council’s Transport, Regeneration and Climate Policy Committee said:

‘Our changing city centre, along with other shopping areas across Sheffield, offer some fantastic places to shop, eat, meet up with friends, and enjoy the magic of Christmas. With this TravelMaster CityWide Day travel ticket, we are giving you yet another reason to come into the city centre at this special time of year.

‘The ticket offers shoppers the opportunity to not only buy that must-have gift but also to enjoy all the festive fun we have around the city this year, including our festive markets.

‘The build-up to Christmas can be a stressful time for those tasked with shopping for the family but this incredible offer takes away part of that stress by taking care of getting into and out of town.’

BetterPoints Sheffield was launched by Sheffield City Council in September to encourage local people to use active and sustainable transport in and around the city.
