Being active for charity is motivating for employees

There are lots of ways to motivate employees. One that resonates with many is the opportunity to give back to the local community, and donating to charity is one way to do this. Challenges which raise money for charity can be a fantastic motivator, support the community and showcase your organisation in a positive way.
Miranda is a good example – a busy working mum to two small children who used to find it hard to fit physical activity into her day. She was encouraged to join the Workplace Challenge by a colleague and found using the BetterPoints app and the sense of inter-colleague and inter-business competition immensely motivating and encouraging. She’s now setting up a lunchtime running and walking club to encourage colleagues to get active too.
Miranda won the Grand Prize in the recent Norfolk Workplace Challenge. She donated her 100,000 BetterPoints (worth £100) prize to a local charity which supports children and adults with issues around substance misuse. She said ‘The Matthew Project’s newly relocated Recovery Support Programme is a hub where people on the road to recovery can come to. It is such a great cause and every little bit helps.’
