This week, be a Lockdown Legend for charity

This week, be a Lockdown Legend for charity

We are proud to support the 2.6 Challenge from 26 April to help save the UK’s charities. Anyone that gets involved can also submit their Challenge evidence as a Lockdown Legend activity in our app for even more donations.

From Sunday 26 April, the 2.6 Challenge is encouraging people to dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise or donate to their chosen charity to help Save the UK’s Charities. It can be anything at all: 2.6 miles, 2.6 km, 26 press-ups, 26 times up and down the stairs, 26 pancake flips… anything with a 2 and a 6, as long as it follows the government’s advice on exercise and social distancing.

Our Lockdown Legend add-on

Until Saturday 2 May, you can share your 2.6 Challenge story and photo or video as a Lockdown Legend activity for the chance of winning extra donations for your chosen charity. We will donate £10 to the chosen charities of our favourite 26 entries.

And that’s not all! This week will choose three – not one, but three – Lockdown Legend winners from those 26 entries. In addition to the £10 donation, each of those Lockdown Legends will win a fitting 26,000 BetterPoints.

3 (that’s 6/2!) Lockdown Legend winners

  • £10 donation each
  • 26,000 BetterPoints each

23 runners-up

  • £10 donation each

What’s all this about?

Charities are struggling. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled because of coronavirus, leaving a huge hole in charity income and a massive £4 billion shortfall for the crucial work they do for so many people. Many charities are now facing closure.

Sunday (26 April) should have been the date of the London Marathon, the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event. Last year, the London Marathon raised more than £66 billion. So, instead, some of the UK’s leading event organisers have set the 2.6 Challenge.

It’s easy to get involved

  1. Dream up a 2.6 challenge (there are lots of ideas here)
  2. Head to twopointsixchallenge.co.uk to donate £26 (or whatever you can afford) to your chosen charity or to set up a fundraising page
  3. Encourage friends and family to sponsor you  and challenge them to do their own 2.6 Challenge
  4. Complete your challenge
  5. Share a photo or video of your challenge on social media with the hashtag #TwoPointSixChallenge
  6. Select the Lockdown Legend activity in your BetterPoints app and share your photo or video there too.

Thank you for helping to Save the UK’s Charities.
