People in Sheffield rewarded for walking and cycling
BetterPoints is delighted to be working with Sheffield City Council on a new campaign designed to inspire greener and healthier journeys.
The council wants to encourage people to try sustainable transport options. BetterPoints Sheffield, which launches this month, will reward everyone who lives, works or studies in the city to earn rewards for getting around in green and healthy ways.
Sheffielders are invited to download the free BetterPoints app and take a short baseline survey to assess their current travel habits. They will then be able to record their walking/wheeling, running, cycling and public transport trips. Participants can earn BetterPoints which they can exchange for Sheffield Gift Cards (accepted in over 80 city centre businesses) or donate to The Children’s Hospital Charity or S6 Foodbank.
Users will also be able to use their BetterPoints to buy a coffee at any of the University of Sheffield’s GeniUS cafes or a pint of beer or cider at the University Arms. The University of Sheffield has had its own successful BetterPoints campaign for staff and students since 2019, with over a million active and sustainable trips recorded last year.
Now citizens across the city will be able to earn rewards for green and healthy journeys and BetterPoints look forward to working with key institutions to deliver a successful city-wide campaign.
