Sustainable travel behaviour change programme accelerates in Brighton & Hove

BetterPoints is delighted to be ramping up its Move for Change programme for Brighton & Hove City Council over a further two years, with a greater focus on engaging under-represented groups and expanding the programme through local businesses.
The programme will also harness funds for Bus Service Improvement Plans to work more closely with local bus companies and encourage greater use of public transport.
Move for Change first ran for 12 months from February 2021 and was commissioned for a second year in 2022. The aim was to encourage local residents and commuters to change the way they travel.
Since then, thousands of people have been rewarded for making more active and sustainable transport choices. In 2022 alone, the programme recorded 1.1 million active or otherwise sustainable journeys, more than half of which replaced a car journey – and prevented an estimated 392,000 kg of CO2 emissions.
That work will be built on over the next two years with a concerted marketing campaign to drive engagement, particularly in key target areas.
