Jamii-Lee saw Brighton and Hove’s Move for Change programme advertised on a bus stop and decided to give it a go.

‘I’ve lost three stone this year already just by walking around and being mindful about my activity. Mentally, it’s made me so much better too. I’ve just got a new mindset, which regular walking has helped me to find.

‘My active habit has become infectious. My daughter has now started taking the dog out on jogs while the weather’s been nicer. I think as a parent, you have to lead by example. To see all the children following what I’m doing is great.

‘As my kids get older, I’m trying to encourage them to keep fit and not be reliant on lifts in the car.

‘We live right in the city centre and parking is really difficult. Walking is actually faster than finding parking when I drop the kids off at school, so I’ve completely changed how I see driving – why would I want to get in the car when I can just walk?

‘Since the lockdowns have eased, traffic feels worse than it’s ever been. Using the app has made me realise the amount of difference, time-wise, walking can make. I’ve saved loads of money too by not paying for parking.

‘So far, I’ve spent my BetterPoints on Amazon vouchers, which have been amazing. I spent them on activity packs for my kids to do when we went on holiday last year to make the journey go quicker!’
