Spring into action: a workplace challenge in Norfolk

Spring into action: a workplace challenge in Norfolk

The Norfolk Pushing Ahead Partnership workplace challenge motivates and rewards people for travelling actively in and around Norwich and Great Yarmouth.

The start of May sees the launch of the Spring Into Action Workplace Challenge. This exciting challenge is part of the Active Workplaces programme and takes the form of team challenge – a competition between workplaces. It employs a number of gamification features: leaderboards (just for fun!), prize draws and teams.

Workplaces, which are categorised into micro, small, medium and large with a leaderboard for each, sign up to join the challenge – there are already over 40 registered and hitting the ground running!

Each week there will be a number of prize draws with almost £300 of prizes up for grabs as well as charity donations. Participants earn one BetterTicket for every walking, cycling and running activity (of at least half a mile) they record via the BetterPoints app each week during the challenge in the Pushing Ahead reward zone.

BetterTickets are virtual a prize draw entry tickets earned for doing a specific activity. The tickets participants earn are automatically entered into our weekly prize draws. BetterPoints are a financially backed currency which can be redeemed for high street vouchers or donated to charities and good causes (1,000 BetterPoints is equivalent to £1.)

Challenges are a proven way of engaging people and focusing interest in a BetterPoints programme, particularly for workplaces. Our gamification features can be applied to a whole range of initiatives and challenges. Recently we’ve helped schools in Leicester earn book tokens for their school library, people in Sutton travel actively and sustainably to improve air quality, powered a cycling competition in Rimini, Italy and engaged over 2,000 people in 53 teams in Bologna in the workplace challenge which was part of Bella Mossa 2018.

BetterPoints behaviour change programmes get people more physically active and travelling more sustainably. Ask us for a demo today.
